Understanding the Results
Years, Months, Days
The most human-readable format. Shows the difference broken down into years, months, and remaining days. Accounts for varying month lengths and leap years.
Total Days/Weeks/Hours
Absolute counts useful for precise calculations. Total days is the exact number of 24-hour periods. Weeks and hours are calculated from total days.
Date Formats
ISO format (YYYY-MM-DD) is universal and sortable. US format (MM/DD/YYYY) is common in America. Day of week shows which day (Monday, Tuesday, etc.) the date falls on.

Does the calculator account for leap years?
Yes, our calculator is fully leap-year aware. It correctly adds the extra day (February 29th) when calculating across leap years.
Does the date difference include the end date?
The 'Date Difference' calculation typically counts the time *between* the days (like subtracting numbers). If you want to include both the start and end days in a count, you would add +1 day to the result.
Can I subtract days from a date?
Yes! Use the 'Add/Subtract Days' tab and select the 'Subtract' option to go back in time from a specific date.
Is this tool useful for business days?
This tool currently calculates total calendar days, including weekends and holidays. For business-day specific calculations, you would need to manually exclude weekends.
